iPhone illumine Theme
Finally I’ve changed my iPhone theme to Illumine after going through tons of researches online today. I am so impressed with this simple and elegant Springboard. Unfortunately, author decided not to share it for Free in Cydia and you got to Donate some money for him in order to get the download link. Luckily, I still able to download the Theme without paying pennies from the kind sharing of the previous Illumine theme users.
Here comes another problem for transferring the downloaded theme into my iPhone. My iPhone having the firmware 3.1.3 installed and previously being jailbreak using the Spirit. Using Spirit to jailbreak the iPhone, you will not able to see “Roots” in the iFunBox or WinSCP or DiskAid.This is not an easy to transfer the 3rd party downloaded theme into the iPhone for me and I swear to myself that I have to work out a solution for this. Thanks god that I am not the first person who facing this kind of problems and solution is just that easy by installing one single file from Cydia only. If having the same problem like me, you could try to install the “afc2add” through Cydia and proceed to download the “iFunBox” to your PC and install it. iFunBox is program that will allow you to connect to your device using a USB cable. You can install your own themes manually be going to “private/var/stash/Themes”. Once connected to your device, drag and drop the theme in this folder. You can now launch WinterBoard and should see the theme you installed.
By using this method, changing Themes is so easy to be done in the future!!
iPhone 4
After tons of rumours and leaked iPhone 4′s news, here comes the official announcement for NEW iPhone 4 by Steve Jobs in WWDC 10 keynote. The new iPhone 4 is slimmer than the 3GS model and with a glass front and back. The stainless steel band that goes around the phone is an antenna system, while also providing the main structure of the phone, though it’s plugged into the same old GSM / UMTS radio you all know and love — there’s a reason they didn’t call it the iPhone 4G. There’s also of course that front facing camera we were all anticipating, a rear camera with LED flash, and a new high resolution display that doubles the pixels in each direction (960 x 640) for a 4X overall pixel count increase — Apple calls it a “Retina Display.” It’s rated at 326ppi, which Apple claims is beyond the human eye’s limit of distinction. Check out an example of the new screen up against the iPhone 3G after the break. Similar to the iPad, it’s an IPS display, offering 800:1 contrast. Naturally, it’s still the same old 3.5-inch size. Under the hood is the A4 processor that runs the iPad. Despite the new engine (and the 25% thinner chassis), Apple managed to make the battery slightly larger, and the new handset is rated at 7 hours of 3G talk, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours of WiFi browsing, 10 hours of video, and 40 hours of music. Oh, and that WiFi? It’s 802.11n now. The camera has been bumped to 5 megapixels, with 5X digital zoom and a “backside illuminated sensor,” which now can also record HD video at 720p / 30fps.
The phone will be available in white or black, retailing at $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for 32GB. They go on sale June 24th, and AT&T will be giving some extra grace upgrade timing — up to six months early. The 3GS will be dropped to $99 and the 3G will disappear completely. Pre-orders start in a week, with 5 countries at launch (US, France, Germany, UK, Japan), with 18 more following in July. I hope it will be available in Malaysia by July too.
Sony Alpha NEX Camera
Finally Sony release its Micro 4/3 series of camera. This has been a success great example from the Olympus EP-2 and Panasonic GF1. Sony is to release the NEX-3 and NEX-5 after the successors of competitors manufacturers. For Sony fans who are keen on the jumping on the M4/3s bandwagon, here is a chance for you to replace the heavy and bulky DSLR to this small but powerful interchangeable lens digital camera.
Sony Press Release
A revolutionary approach to interchangeable lens cameras from Sony
New Alpha digital cameras with DSLR picture quality and responsive shooting
World’s smallest and lightest1 interchangeable lens digital camera (NEX-5)
14.2 effective megapixels Exmor™ APS HD CMOS sensor
1080i HD movie recording (NEX-5) with stereo sound, fast and silent autofocus
Intuitive new interface with Help Guide and Shooting Tips
E-mount lens system compatible with α DSLR lenses (with optional Mount Adaptor)
Sweep Panorama with 3D capability
Professional quality images are now available to all. Enjoy the stunning picture quality and shooting responses prized by DSLR users in two exceptionally compact new cameras that are brilliantly easy to use.
Joining the Alpha family, the NEX-5 and NEX-3 team DSLR-quality imaging with the convenience of interchangeable lenses in a sleek new design, that slips easily into a bag or pocket. In contrast with conventional DSLR models, the ‘mirrorless’ construction shrinks the thickness of the cameras to just 24.2mm (NEX-5 excluding grip and mount) and 25.4mm (NEX-3, excluding grip and mount) at their slimmest points. As a luxurious extra refinement, the NEX-5 features a tough yet light-weight magnesium body, making it the world’s smallest and lightest interchangeable lens digital camera1.
At the heart of both cameras is a newly-developed Exmor™ APS HD CMOS sensor with a resolution of 14.2 effective megapixels. Far larger than the sensor inside conventional compact cameras, its key to the extremely low image noise and creative defocus effects that consumers have come to expect from DSLR cameras.
Still and video image quality is further refined by the powerful BIONZ processor that ensures speedy DSLR-style shooting reflexes with quick, precise autofocus and minimal shutter lag. Both cameras can also capture fast-moving action with a high-speed burst of full-resolution images at up to 7fps (AF/AE fixed from first frame).
An elegant, uncluttered user interface – featuring a new ‘never get lost’ menu – makes the powerful creative possibilities of the NEX-5 and NEX-3 accessible to photo enthusiasts and snap shooters alike. Shooting parameters are easily accessed via an intuitive control wheel and two soft keys. Turning the control dial, for example, allows depth of focus changes to be previewed ‘live’ on the LCD3, giving effortless control over beautiful, pro-style portraits. Further help for photographers developing their skills is provided by a library of on-screen shooting tips and a friendly help guide.
Images and camera settings are displayed on the large, bright 3” Xtra Fine LCD screen with TruBlack technology that tilts up or down for comfortable viewing in any shooting position. The screen features an auto-brightness function for excellent visibility, even when you’re outdoors. TruBlack screen technology enables an even more vivid, high-contrast view of images and camera settings.
Compatibility with a wide range of interchangeable lenses dramatically expands the artistic possibilities of the E-mount camera system.
Ideal for everyday shooting, the low-profile E 16mm F/2.8 ‘pancake’ lens (SEL16F28) minimises bulk when the camera is being carried in a coat pocket. Its field of view can be boosted even further by the VCL-ECU1 Ultra Wide Converter and VCL-ECF1 Fisheye Converter that deliver high-definition optical performance in a sleek, co-ordinated design.
Featuring in-lens Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation for clearer handheld images, the E 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 zoom (SEL1855) is perfect for every day shooting. The NEX-5 and NEX-3 are available in kit form with either lens, or as a double-lens kit that provides even greater shooting versatility.
The E 18-200 F/3.5-6.3 zoom (SEL18200) lens is also available and offers a powerful 11x magnification range. It also features Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation in the lens and Active Mode ensures steady movie capture even when on the move.
An optional LA-EA1 mount adaptor extends compatibility to the α family of 30 lenses, plus a huge range of other legacy A-mount lenses (Manual Focus only).
The NEX-5 and NEX-3 are also the first α cameras to offer the extra convenience of HD video recording. At the touch of a dedicated Movie REC button, both NEX-5 and NEX-3 shoots Full HD (1920 x1080) video as high-quality AVCHD files that can be enjoyed by connecting to an HD television. HD video (720p) can also be captured by NEX-3 as compact MPEG4 files that are ideal for PC storage and web sharing. As an option, the smart accessory terminal on both cameras accepts the compact ECM-SST1 Stereo Microphone (optional) that captures a high-quality soundtrack for your HD videos.
The NEX-5 and NEX-3 are the first Alpha cameras featuring Sweep Panorama. Just press the shutter button and sweep the camera horizontally or vertically. A high-speed burst of frames is stitched together automatically to create detail-packed 23 megapixel panoramas with a 226 degree effective angle of view4. As a world’s first, Sweep Panorama files can also be enjoyed in stunning 3D on compatible BRAVIA™ 3D televisions.5
As previously introduced on the DSLR-A550, Auto HDR has been further refined. The NEX-5 and NEX-3 can now shoot a high-speed burst of three images at different exposure values that are combined in the camera. This produces a single High Dynamic Range image with extended highlights, more mid tones and shadow detail.
Both cameras come supplied with a super-compact clip-on flash that attaches via the smart accessory terminal when needed for low-light shooting. Other optional accessories include the FDA-SV1 Optical Viewfinder plus colour coordinated cases and shoulder straps.

This time envisioned by a team of artists at Perception who did the design, animation, and visual effects work that turned Tony Stark’s transparent LG smartphone (pictured above), touch-screen coffee table, and holographic lab environment into an on-screen reality. Siem Reap Trip 2010 – Part 1
I visited to Siem Reap again on 22 to 26 April 2010. It was a 5 Days 4 Nights trip and well organise & lead by a Driver cum Tour-Guide name Ah Ming. He is so friendly and can speak Mandarin very well. We have no problem in communicating in the whole trip and he become our translator too when dealing with the local people.
Just a bit disappointed that the Angkor Wat is under renovation which you can see it has been cover by the green layer. But it didn’t stop us from shooting photos. When comparing to my previous visit, you can find out that the water in the pond and grass along the walkway no longer greenish but dried. It lost the feeling of greenish and just imagine the weather is extremely hot.
Compare this…
Arrived to Siem Reap Airport
New Riverside Hotel
This is the hotel that we going to stay for the following days. Condition of the hotel quite new and with a small swimming pool. The hotel provide Free WiFi online and PCs are Free to Use at the lobby too which is quite convenience for those who can’t live without internet. We’ve been offer for only USD$15 for the Double/Twin Room & USD$20 for Triple Room per night and the breakfast is included. It has been much more cheaper than the published rate at the official website (www.riversideroom.com). Thanks to Ah Ming arrangement!
Twin Room
After having Mihun Soup as breakfast, our trip’s driver cum tour-guide leaded us to visit the local Old Market.
Ah Ming (leader) guiding us ahead and walk through the stalls.
Stalls which selling Gold Jewellery, imagine what will happen if these stalls are in here
2nd destination…Cultural Village
I would only recommend to visit the cultural village if you have plenty of free time. The cultural shows didn’t attract me a lot and maybe being affected by the environment. Majority of the shows took place at open air places which the weather is so hot in the afternoon. So you will not have the mood to enjoy it and I will prefer to walkaround to enjoy the view of Siem Reap City.
Show Time
For the Cultural Shows, I didn’t took much photos because I’ve nearly fall asleep during the show. For god sake, finally it ended at 5pm+ and we straight away headed to have our dinner. We tried for the Chinese Beijing Food for the first night. The Fried Dumpling (锅贴) is recommended to try at this restaurant. It costs average USD$3+ per person for the dinner.
After the dinner, we choose to explore on the Night Market at the Old Market. We’ve found a lots of local food stalls in there. That’s the place for us to try out the local food in the coming few days and also the only place for us to walkaround during the night time. Anchor Beer exceptional cheap compare to other brands. It only cost you USD$0.50 for the Draught beer. Must got for it when you are in Siem Reap next time!
Food Stalls at Night Market
It’s the same as our Roti Canai, but taste nicer
Draught beer only USD$0.50 – Rest & Relax after a tired walk
Thats all for our first day in Siem Reap and everyone is excited for the 2nd day towards the Angkor Wat.
Stay tunes for the next updates…
